The Friends of Ida Hilton Public Library, Inc. exists to support and enhance the programs, services, and resources of the Ida Hilton Public Library; to promote literacy and lifelong learning; and to engage the community in support of the library through advocacy, volunteerism, and fundraising.
Friends groups like ours fund the extras that public budgets can't cover - children's and summer reading programs, equipment, materials, and special events that make the library a richer place for everyone in McIntosh County.
March 2026 - Incorporated as a Georgia nonprofit corporation
April 2026 - Bylaws adopted and officers elected by the Board of Directors
June 2026 - Recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization
2026 - Memorandum of Understanding approved with the Three Rivers Regional Library System / Ida Hilton Public Library, establishing our partnership with the library
The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors under bylaws adopted April 22, 2026. Directors and officers serve without compensation.
